I'm an HPCP and BPS accredited Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years of experience, both in the NHS and the private sector. I offer individual therapy to people over the age of 18.
I'm originally from South Africa and have lived in the UK since 1998. I've always been drawn to the mental health field, initially through my own struggles as a young person and later as an avid, life-long learner of all things psychology-related. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of therapy and in everyone's intrinsic ability to heal and grow, given the right conditions.
My career started in the NHS in 2003, working for a range of trusts including the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, the Royal Free NHS Trust and the Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust.
I was based in adult general mental health, treating people with depression and a range of anxiety disorders. I also worked in a number of long-term health teams, helping people to adjust to conditions such as HIV, CFS/ME, chronic pain and diabetes. In my last NHS post in 2016 I was responsible for setting up and running a psychology service for a long-term health conditions team.
In the private sector, I worked at the Nightingale Hospital in Marylebone on the general psychiatric unit for over six years, where I facilitated inpatient therapy groups and provided outpatient CBT and Schema Therapy sessions.
I co-facilitated a core certification programme run by the ISST-approved Schema Therapy Associates for six years, until the start of 2024.
I have been running my private practice since 2013. I now divide my time between clinical work and supervising therapists. I'm also a co-founder of The Helpers Hub, offering training and support to people in the helping professions.
